WHO IS JEAN PAUL MARAIS?
Jean Paul started his career in the financial services and the property sector as a debtor’s clerk in a property investment company who owned and managed over 6000 student beds, 2000 residential rental properties and a few commercial properties across South Africa. Very soon he was promoted to portfolio manager and his responsibility was to manage the 2000 residential rental units.
He was then promoted and migrated to the financial services and corporate finance division of the group where he is currently the CEO, responsible for raising capital (bridging finance, trade finance, equity and asset finance) for SMME’s in South Africa. He, with his team, has successfully raised in excess of R1,4billion of capital for his third-party clients since 2020.
Jean Paul will be part of the Property and Commodity and Trade Finance ECP’s executive team.
